Bloomsburg Falls to Clarion in Women's Basketball

CLARION--Despite a game-high 21 points from Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team lost to Clarion, 85-64, on Sunday night.

The Huskies (3-4) held the early lead in the game opening a 13-9 edge after a jumper by Kegerreis with 13:52 remaining in the first half. After Clarion (5-1) hit a three-pointer to take its first lead of the game, 15-13, Bloomsburg's Lauren Healy (Glenmoore/Owen J. Roberts) hit a three-pointer of her own to put the Huskies back on top, 16-15. That would be Bloomsburg's last lead as the Golden Eagles went on a 25-8 run over the remaining nine minutes of the half to lead by 16, 40-24 at the break. Clarion then used a 17-7 run to open the second half and put the game out of reach for the Huskies.

Along with Kegerreis scoring 21 points for Bloomsburg, Healy finished with 14 points with Kelly Joyce (Ashland/Cardinal Brennan) adding 13.

Clarion had five players in double figures led by Katrina Greer with 20 and Sara Pratt with 16.

Bloomsburg plays at Penn State-Hazleton on Saturday at 1 p.m.
